Description

A.L. Lloyd, along with Ewan MacColl was one of the founding fathers and guiding lights of the UK Folk Song revival. He started his recording career in the early 1950’s. As Artistic Director of Topic Records he would influence many of the leading figures of the Folk scene. During the 1950’s he made a number of themed LPs including his epic collection of Child Ballads (FECD240). This album was one such themed collection and is devoted to ‘love songs’ to be found in the English tradition.
